D is the highest color on the scale as these diamonds are the most colorless. Diamonds with I and beyond color are considered to be "Fancy" diamonds as they are colored, mostly by yellow hues. D, E and F color diamonds are considered to be the Top Tier, while G, H and I are considered to be the Second Tier. While diamonds in the same color group can differ slightly by price, when there is a jump in color from Group 1 to Group 2, there is a substantiate price difference. For instance, a diamond with a D color versus a diamond with an I color, can vary greatly in terms of price. Other diamond colors are FA or FC which are not even supposed to be considered diamonds at all. They are very colored stones and most of them have yellowish hues. These are sometime called Fancy Diamonds.
